I would say that all of us are greatly influenced by our parents, and that's where we learn the values that stick with us our entire life. I also learned that sometimes it's not enough when the unexpected happens.
It was at one of these crucial times in our family when I realized exactly what I wanted to do with my life. I had just taken my last final when I learned my dad was admitted to the hospital with heart complications. I remember the recovery time, the time away from work and the medical bills being overwhelming because my dad was not adequately insured for this health event. Thankfully, my dad pulled through, but seeing my parents go through this trying time reinforced what I already knew.
I was passionate about helping people and wanting to help other families prepare for the uncertainties in life. These are the times where I feel I'm called to help alleviate financial worries and burdens.
McBeath Financial Group is a registered investment advisor firm that focuses on financial planning, investments, insurance, and tax planning. As an independent financial advisory firm, I have the freedom to find the best financial fit for my clients. It also allows me to spend time getting to know my clients so I can understand their financial needs and goals and build a long lasting relationship.
Over the years, we've helped people that come from all walks of life. With two major insurance companies, having their corporate offices in our backyard, we've become the go-to resource for corporate employees as well. Helping these employees prepare for retirement and assess voluntary severance offers has become a niche specialty.
I pride myself on having great communication skills, but also being tech savvy. This has led to developing our own process; what we call the TEAM approach, which stands for the Technology Empowered Advisor Method. This is the personalized touch of an advisor, backed by advanced software tools. Our high tech software allows us to assess our client's unique situation and explore different scenarios, all of which are stress tested. This way we can demonstrate how our recommendations could improve their financial plan.
All of my clients are on their own unique financial journey, so there's no one size fits all when it comes to developing a plan for them. If there is a common theme I see with them is that they all want the peace of mind and confidence that comes with a successful retirement.
I strive for a good work/life balance, being a financial planner, a wife and a mother, and what I've learned is that all comes down to time. The time we invest in those we care about makes a lasting impact we may not see for years to come.
Listening to my client's concerns is the foundation of our financial planning system. So for me, I always focus on developing relationships that will last.
Discovering the best fit for my clients takes some time, but it's well worth the effort. I take what I do to heart, and my hope is that my clients' lives are better for it.
