McBeath Financial Group Welcomes Adam Karstens
New Business Operations Role Supports Firm's Continued Growth
McBeath Financial Group has welcomed Adam Karstens as Business Operations Administrator, a newly created position supporting the firm's continued growth.
As our team and the number of clients we serve have grown, so have the operational needs behind the scenes. Adam brings dedicated focus to this increasingly important area of the firm.
Growth Brings New Operational Demands
Growth within a wealth management firm happens in ways clients may not always see. As our financial planning process has continued to evolve, the technology and systems supporting that work have become increasingly important. Compliance and reporting requirements have expanded, cybersecurity demands greater attention, and a larger team brings additional human resources and administrative responsibilities.
For years, many of these responsibilities have been managed by members of our existing team in addition to their primary roles. President Krista McBeath has carried much of that responsibility, while Director of Financial Planning and shareholder Julie Karstens has taken on an increasing role in the management and leadership of the firm. Client Services Specialist Lauren Dennewitz has also stepped in wherever needed.
Reaching the point where these responsibilities warrant a dedicated position is an important milestone for the company.
As Business Operations Administrator, Adam will oversee a broad range of day-to-day operational responsibilities, including human resources, technology, business systems, general office administration, and some compliance tasks. His role adds another layer of organizational support while allowing Krista and Julie to devote more of their time to their primary responsibilities, including serving clients and developing and leading the team members, and planning for the firm's future.
The Right Person for the Role
Adam brings a background in engineering and process improvement, along with an analytical mindset and a natural ability to solve complex problems and keep systems organized. His attention to detail, collaborative nature, and commitment to continuous improvement are particularly well suited to the wide-ranging responsibilities of business operations. Adam believes strong operations are built on clear communication and a commitment to excellence—qualities that closely align with our own culture.
Adam also comes to the position with a unique familiarity with McBeath Financial Group. His wife, Julie, is not only our Director of Financial Planning but also a shareholder in the firm. Through Julie's leadership and ownership, Adam has had years of exposure to the company's philosophy, processes, challenges, culture, and long-term vision. Their family already has a significant investment in the future of the firm, giving Adam a perspective and commitment that would be difficult for a typical new employee to bring on day one.
That relationship certainly made Adam someone we knew well—but it wasn't what made him the right person for the job. Our team has long been impressed by Adam's intelligence, character, positive attitude, and abilities. When we considered the skills needed for this new position, his engineering and process-improvement background, problem-solving abilities, personality, and familiarity with the organization made him an exceptional fit.
Investing in the Future
Adding dedicated business operations support isn't simply about shifting responsibilities. It is about creating the organizational capacity necessary for the next stages of growth for McBeath Financial Group.
Adam's role creates much-needed capacity within the firm's leadership and operations. By taking ownership of many of the compliance, technology, human resources, administrative, and systems responsibilities that have grown along with the company, he allows Krista and Julie to devote greater attention to leadership, strategic planning, and the continued development of the firm and its financial planning process. Just as importantly, these increasingly complex operational responsibilities now have a professional in a role dedicated to their additional oversight and day-to-day management.
Adam's addition also brings another important element of long-term continuity to the firm. Even before Adam joined the firm, he and Julie, a shareholder of McBeath Financial Group, had made a significant commitment to the future of McBeath Financial Group. With Adam now bringing his own talents and career to the organization, that commitment extends even deeper. Together, they share a personal investment in the continued strength and growth of the firm and, most importantly, its ability to serve our clients for many years to come.
For McBeath Financial Group, welcoming Adam is much more than adding another member to the team. It is an exciting milestone in the continued evolution of the company and another meaningful investment in its future.
